The care of our animals and animal welfare

The welfare of our animals is our top priority. The Dolfinarium pays a lot of attention to research and we are constantly looking for ways to share our knowledge. Thanks to the information we have gained over the past 50 years, we can contribute to the general knowledge about marine animals and their well-being in parks and in nature.

The Dolfinarium is regularly tested for compliance with the legislation on keeping animals. For example, the Dolfinarium is an active member of the trade association E.A.A.M. (European Association for Acquatic Mammals) and we contribute to international cooperation to further shape the criteria for keeping marine mammals, organizing knowledge expansion and sharing knowledge.

Mental challenge of our animals is what we call playing with animals. The caretakers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, full of passion for our animals. All the challenges that our zookeepers give to the animals provide a lot of fun for the animals. This is called “enrichment”
