Dolfinarium works with different partners to strengthen the knowledge for our education purposes. And even more, to provide our valuable assets and values to vulnurable people in the society.

Personal wishes

Dolfinarium very regularly receives personal wishes and requests. Often these are requests for children or adults going through a difficult time. An encounter with a dolphin or a special day out with the family can make a huge difference. Every year we realize dozens of special wishes. We do not do this alone, but in close cooperation with various foundations. Within these foundations, hundreds of volunteers are committed to organizing such a day and making it very special.

For personal wishes, cooperation with our partners is of great importance. They have the expertise to get the right wishes to the right people, provide the necessary guidance and organize the day. Dolfinarium provides a special meeting of humans and animals.

Supporting our mission: together for nature conservation

For years, the Dolfinarium has been taking its guests along in its performances with the message that plastic is bad for animals and for nature. A lot of plastic disappears into the oceans, and the ocean currents create a concentration of plastic soup that fish and animals ingest or become entangled in. All marine animals ingest plastic or microplastics in this way, and marine mammals, at the head of the chain, do ingest the most plastic. Due to the popularity of plastic as a packaging material and the enormous growth of the world population, it is predicted that by 2050 there will be more plastic in the sea than fish.

Protecting nature is close to our hearts. That is why we are committed to protecting nature as much as possible, together with various partners (both nationally and internationally). How and with whom we do this? Then read here.

Plastic Soup Foundation is an international organisation that wants to stop plastic pollution by preventing it at it’s source. We also work with local initiatives to reduce plastic waste. The BeestenBende are thousands of kids who are committed to a clean and pleasant neighborhood throughout the country. They meet once a year at Dolfinarium to celebrate their waste project.

Make-a-Wish Nederland

Make-A-Wish Nederland vervult de liefste wens van kinderen tussen 3 en 18 jaar met een levensbedreigende ziekte. Het vervullen van een allerliefste wens heeft op ieder kind een magisch effect, maar op kinderen met een levensbedreigende ziekte in het bijzonder. Het geeft deze kinderen, die vanwege hun ziekte te vaak vooral patiënt zijn, de kracht om kind te zijn. Het verwezenlijken van een droom kan voor hun toekomst een wereld van verschil betekenen.

Een veelgevraagde wens is een ontmoeting met een dolfijn. Dolfinarium werkt al jarenlang mee aan diverse wensvervullingen, maar sinds 2014 biedt Dolfinarium een speciaal maatwerkprogramma zodat wenskinderen in het water dolfijnen kunnen ontmoeten. Enkel en alleen door de intensieve samenwerking is dit speciale programma mogelijk: Make-a-Wish Nederland beschikt over de kennis om de zieke kinderen en familie te begeleiden en het Dolfinarium beschikt over de expertise om ontmoetingen met dolfijnen mogelijk te maken.

In het water komt het wenskind oog in oog met een dolfijn. De dolfijnenverzorger wordt de ‘personal assistant’ van het wenskind. Wat is er leuker dan zelf een spel te bedenken samen met de dolfijn of het hele lichaam controleren? Via handgebaren kan het wenskind gedragingen vragen aan het dier en daarna belonen met een knuffel, vis of ijsblokjes. Wat er gebeurt bepalen kind en dier samen tijdens hun unieke ontmoeting. Dreamnight at the Zoo

Eén avond per jaar gaat het Dolfinarium voor een goed doel gratis open. Daarvoor heeft Dolfinarium een samenwerking met Stichting Dreamnight at the Zoo.

Voor wie?

Het doel van de “Dreamnight at the Zoo” is om een avond per jaar de poorten van verschillende dierenparken gratis te openen voor chronisch zieke en gehandicapte kinderen en hun familieleden. Meer informatie vind je hier.

Wensambulance

Stichting Ambulance Wens Nederland is een groep van 270 medisch geschoolde vrijwilligers die dagelijks gratis laatste wensen vervullen van immobiele (mensen die afhankelijk zijn van ambulancevervoer) terminale patiënten met behulp van speciaal daarvoor ontwikkelde ambulances. Het Dolfinarium helpt regelmatig met het in vervulling laten gaan van deze laatste wensen.

IKEV

Het Instituut voor Kennis en Vaardigheden verzorgt specialistische opleidingen rondom het onderwerp Prenatale Hechting en de vorming van Basisvertrouwen. Met de Cref-methode en het contact met dolfijnen als spiegel beoogt IKEV om clienten met emotionele problemen te genezen.
